David Johnson

David Johnson went home to Jesus on August 2nd 2024 at the age of 72. A celebration of life will be at 11:00 am Friday, August 9th, 2024 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home / Chapel, with George Ohmstede of Fellowship Bible Church officiating.  

David was born to Roy and Phyllis Johnson in July 10, 1952 in Athens, Tx. David joined the Marine Corps in July 1969 and served until summer of 1973. He continued his military service in the National Guard before becoming a civil servant until retirement (the first time). Completing more than 30 years of service to his country. During which he earned a PhD in environmental science, authored many SOPs for hazardous chemical handling and containment and traveled the world with his family. After retirement he continued to work for various state agencies including TSTC in Rosenberg and Waco, Texas State Highway patrol, and Texas state office of risk management . After he finally retired for the third (or fourth) time, he became an avid (but poor; he had fun) golfer. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church and frequently served as a part of the Safety team. He was a joyful man that loved the Lord and his family.

His joy and laughter will live on in his wife Brenda Johnson, son Douglas Johnson and wife Candace, daughter Eva Callicoatte, four grandchildren; Abigail, Shawn, Colin, and Emily, and his two brothers; Larry Johnson and Kenneth (Sheryl) Johnson. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
