David Branch passed away on February 24, 2025, just days shy of his 77th birthday. Born on February 28, 1948, in Temple, Texas, David lived a life filled with purpose, passion, and a deep commitment to education. A memorial service in his honor is pending.
David was a proud graduate of Richfield High School, where his love for education started. This passion guided him to continue his studies at Baylor University, San Diego State University, and the University of California, San Diego. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and completed numerous certifications that showcased his dedication to personal and professional growth.
David’s career was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit as he owned his own business, David Branch Investigators. He was a substitute teacher at Belton High School, where his influence on students was profound, their impact in his life did not go unnoticed.
A military veteran, David proudly served in the United States Army. He was involved with Citizens on Patrol, contributing to the safety and well-being of his community, as well as a member of radio clubs.
A lover of the outdoors in his childhood, David cherished moments spent hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods. He possessed an insatiable thirst for knowledge that manifested through his interests in training horses, writing, collecting books, and antiquing. He loved spending time with his dogs.
Above all, he took great joy in spending time with his family, particularly his granddaughter, Savannah. He would support her at events and deeply cherished Saturday lunches with his daughter, Kate, and Savannah, moments that brought him immense happiness.
In 1972, David married the love of his life, Sylvia Branch, whom he met in college here at Baylor University. Their bond was strong, filled with love and laughter until her passing.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Brnach, parents, William and Billie Branch, and his brother, Stephen Branch.
Surviving David are his children, Will and Kate; his cherished granddaughter, Savannah; and his brother, Dan Branch, along with sister-in-law, Mary Goggin. He is also survived by his beloved fur babies, Millie, Jo, isabella and the memory of Electra.
David's legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the lessons he imparted, and the love he shared.
