Daryl Ray Thompson

Daryl Ray Thompson, 50, of McGregor, Texas peacefully went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00am, Friday, March 24, 2022 at College Avenue Baptist with Dr. Phillip Riegel officiating.

Daryl was born May 1, 1972 in Oneonta, Alabama to Virgil R. Thompson and Fay (New) Thompson. Daryl graduated high school from McGregor High School in 1992.

Daryl pursued his love of truck driving for over 20 years. He was awarded the highest ranking for over 1 MILLION safe miles of driving. Daryl loved praying for people, giving inspirational words of advice, and working with his hands. He was the best dance partner you could find. When he wasn't driving you would find him out by the lake listening to music, sipping on a cold beer, fishing and a nice bonfire at night. He enjoyed scratching lotto tickets.

He was preceded in death by his dad, both parental grandparents, and both maternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles, classmates and friends he made over the years.

Daryl is survived by his mother Fay of McGregor, Texas. His wife Breanne, the love of his life; son Kaleb Ayers & Wife Braxton, grandson Rhett, daughter Courtlyn Thompson, daughter Makaela Thompson (Chris), granddaughters, Avery and Mia, daughter, Raelyn Thompson. Sister, Donna Critchfield and husband Edward, brother Jeffery Thompson and wife Rachel, sister Vickie Zarate-Pantoja and husband Jose. Nephews, Dakota Thompson, Marcus Thompson, Dylan Critchfield, Joseph Thompson. Nieces, Maria Zarate, Dalana Ballard Great nephews, Lorenzo Olvera and Micah Zarate.
