Danny Sims

Biography

Danny Pate Sims age 83 of Waco passed away at a local hospital April 24, 2010 with his family by his side. Funeral Services will be 10AM Monday April 26, 2010 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel at 8220 Woodway Dr. with Pastor Walter Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Jean Texas. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.

Danny was born August 16, 1926 to Mack H. and Grace Easterling Sims. He graduated Jean High School then attended Hardin Simmons University graduating with a major in chemical engineering. In later years he attended Baylor University Law School. He worked for Phillips Petroleum which later became known as Rocketdyne in McGregor Texas. He worked at General Dynamics in Fort Worth Texas as head of contracts. He worked for Roman Cleanser as plant manager. He also was a real estate broker here in Waco and became very active with the Waco Board of Realtors and the appraisal board. Due to bad health he retired just two years ago staying very active as long as he was able. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their respective activities. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodway. Throughout the years he and his son Brent spent many happy hours hunting and fishing together.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Glenn Warren Sims. He is survived by three children; a son Brent Sims and his wife Laura of Gatesville, two daughters Dannisue Pierce and her husband Richard of Abilene Texas and Rhonda Sims of Abilene Texas. Four Grandchildren, Madison Sims, Jace Sims, Bradley Pierce and Victoria Pierce.
