Dan Munroe

Dan Munroe age 89, a Montana native passed away Friday April 15, 2011 at a local nursing facility. Graveside services will be 4PM Tuesday April 19, 2011 at Smith Bend Cemetery with Father Michael Heidt officiating. Dan will lie in state from noon Sunday to noon on Tuesday at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Dan was born May 30, 1921 in Winifred, Montana to Rolland and Mildred Munroe. Early in his life he competed in relay horse races and then while rodeoing he participated in calf roping and saddle bronc riding. He grew up on the PN Ranch in Montana and ranched all of his life.

He is survived by his daughter Butch Bonine and her husband J.C.; a son Bud Munroe and his wife Jimmie; two granddaughters Becky Vine and husband Martin and Tassie Munroe; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Montana Pro Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame under the Dan Munroe Memorial Fund at any Stockman Bank in Montana or by mail to P.O. Box 80850 Billings, Montana 59108.
