Curtis Bailey

Curtis Bailey Sr. age 67, of Moody passed away on Easter Sunday March 31, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. Funeral Services will be 11AM Thursday April 4, 2013 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bennie Hargrove officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM Wednesday April 3, 2013 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.
Curtis was born on November 22, 1945 in Moody Texas to Claude and Marie Bailey. Our father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather was a man of many talents. Forever the "go to" man when you needed something. Whether it be a broke down old truck, advice, a laugh, or even the occasional loan during hard times.

He spent his life giving to others when he didn't have it to give. It was just his nature. In his spare time he enjoyed growing things in his garden. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter and had many an adventure in the field with family and friends. His early interests included motorcycle racing in which he was well respected among his peers.

Everybody that knew him will miss his easy smile and his positive attitude that was a constant. If the measure of a man is the friends that he has had in his life, Curtis Bailey, was very much a man among men.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Larry Gene and Coy Bailey; two sisters Margie Mueller and Pam Richards.

Curtis is survived by a son Curtis Jr and wife Robin; 3 daughters Kim Cannon and husband Mark, Penny Vannatta and husband Danny and Casie Bailey; 2 brothers Claude Bailey Jr. and Travis Bailey Sr. and wife Nancy; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Kay O’Leary, Jacque Harris, Beth Ratliff and Sharon from Southern Care Hospice and Becky Goodwin with Providence Hospice for their loving and kind care.
