Claris Rogers

Claris Jane (Martin) Rogers, 92, of Waco, passed away Friday November 1, 2013. A memorial service celebrating her life will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2013 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr.

She was born April 29, 1921 to Lula Jane and John Martin of Lincoln, Ga. She married John R Rogers in Atlanta, GA and moved to Texas in 1946. She was a wonderful wife and mother to their four children. She loved to play bridge and to fish. She was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and South Padre Island was her favorite get away each year. Her loving, gracious, and fun loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband John and her parents Lula and John Martin, and sister Sybil Hammond, daughter-in-law Tommie Rogers, and son-in-law John Vordokas.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Grover and Sandra Rogers, her son John Rogers, Her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Stuart McKay, and her daughter Nancy Vordokas, all of Waco. She is also survived by her grandson and wife Marc and Laura Rogers of Uvalde; Granddaughter and husband Nancy and Kirk Baird of Waco; Granddaughter and husband Chrissy and Anthony Wood of Round Rock; Granddaughter and husband Tracey and Adam Bleakly of Cedar Park; granddaughter Kelley Rogers of Waco; And grandson And wife JD and Stephanie Vordokas of Ft Worth; Grandson and wife Garrett and Kim of Odessa; and thirteen great grandchildren.
