Christopher James Bunch

April 23, 1987 — April 11, 2021

Hewitt, Texas

Chris Bunch 33, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 11th, after injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.  His service will be Friday, April 16th, 11 a.m. at Victorious Life Church in Waco, with John Rainey officiating.  Burial will follow at the Riesel Cemetery in Riesel, Texas.  Visitation will be Thursday, April 15th, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.at Grace Gardens in Woodway, Texas.

Chris made it his goal to make people laugh and was a very gifted story teller.  He was loved by everyone that came in contact with him.  His personality lit up the room when he came in and he was always willing to have something to say that would make you laugh, right along with his goofy laugh!  His #1 goal was being a great father to his son Christopher Allen Bunch (CoCo).  He loved spending time with CoCo.  Coaching and watching him in sports and how to be a great fisherman.  Along with that was being involved with his niece and nephew’s games.  Chris loved family-time and loved getting together to talk about good times on the back patio at his brother’s house along with his sister while grilling, playing games and drinking a beer.  The three of them had a very close bond.  In addition to his family, he loved his girlfriend Kayla. They would spend time going to church, going on spontaneous trips, bike riding, cooking “fancy” unusual meals and always game to do something new and fun.  There was never a dull moment with the two of them.

When Chris really needed to talk to someone, he would drive his truck to the Riesel Cemetery, pull up by his mama’s grave, sit on his tailgate, drink a beer with her and discuss whatever was on his mind.  It somehow always helped clear things up for him.

Chris graduated from Mart High School and loved supporting and following the Mart Panthers. He made lifelong friends from Mart.  Camo, his English Bulldog was his best pal. Chris loved listening to country music and would twirl you around on the dance floor when he had the chance.  Chris loved spending 1:1 time on the lake fishing with his father figure, Russ Meier.  His love for cars led him to work for Late Model Restoration in Hewitt. He was happiest when working on Mustangs!

Chris was preceded in death by his beloved mama, Gloria Bunch, his father James Bunch, Memaw Betty & Grandfather Sidney Martinez, Uncle Juni and several cousins.

Left to cherish his memory are his son Christopher “CoCo” Allen Bunch, sister Natalie & husband Charles Smith Jr., brother Justin Lee and wife Kristina, loving Aunt Sue Garrett, nephews Trip Smith and Kain Lee, niece CarLynn Smith, his girlfriend Kayla Bruce, his “adopted parents” Pattie & Russ Meier and family Audrie Ondrej, Mandie  and Corrie Meier and his son’s mom Ashley Ondrej, half brother James Bunch,  many Aunts, Uncles and cousins, friends and his beloved dog “Camo”.

Pallbearers will be Justin Lee, Charles Smith Jr., JJ Medlock, Eric Steinke, Jeremy Bailey, Richard Graves, Adam Lopez, and Justin Martin.  Honorary Pallbearers are Christopher Bunch, Trip Smith, Kain Lee and Caleb Minnix.
