Charles Ruhl

March 1, 1920 — May 9, 2013

Charles Robert Ruhl departed his earthly body and joined the Lord in heavenly body on May 9, 2013.

Charlie was born March 1, 1920 in Merwin Missouri, the 4th of 12 children to Manuel Lee and Bertha Louise Ruhl.

He was a child of the Depression, he learned to work hard and care deeply. On April 25, 1942 he married the love of his life, Thelma Louise Youngblood. To their blessed union 3 children were born.

He served his country proudly and with distinction in Europe during WWII returning to join the newly formed Air force, where he served with the Strategic Air Command.

Charlie was a Master Mason and Shriner and long standing member of the York Rite.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, sons Chuck and wife Inge of Sequin, Texas, Joe and wife Jeana of Jacumba, California, daughter Peggy Ruhl Smith and Husband Douglas of Waco. Sisters, Phyllis Coe and Husband Tom of Springfield, Missouri, Judy Ruhl of Green Valley, Arizona. Brother Kenneth Ruhl of Kansas City, Missouri. 6 grandchildren, 3 step-children, 17 great- grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren and 4 step great-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephew, a multitude of Fraternal Brothers and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters and a step-grand daughter.

Special Thanks to Drs. Artie Sudan and Robert Anderson and their great staff. Providence Hospice, especially his nurse Michelle and great support staff, Laura, Ida, Wilda and Cheryl.
His daughter was his primary caregiver, but loving Thanks to his gradson Charles (Rob) Smith and Ann Weyant.

The world is a better place for Charlie having been in it.
