Charles Raymond Kolb, 89, of Copperas Cove passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2016. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 5 - 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive.

Charles Raymond Kolb, 89, of Copperas Cove passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2016.

Charles was born to Oscar and Olga Kolb March 31, 1926 in Buffalo, NY. He joined the Navy in 1943. After Charles completed his service in 1946, he re-joined the military and enlisted with the United States Army Air Forces, which became the United States Air Force in 1947 and served as a fireman and a first responder. Charles served his country for almost 30 years when he retired in 1971 as a Tech. Sergeant. Charles then entered the civil service as a fireman for the Air Force at Webb Air Force Base and retired Ft. Hood in 1992. Charles married the love of his life, Doris (Guthrie), April 6, 1951 in Mineral Wells. He loved sports, especially Baseball.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Kolb; parents, Oscar and Olga Kolb; brother, Oscar Kolb, Jr.; and sister, Olga Alderman.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Deborah Kolb, Sandy Lowe and husband, Alan, and Karen Young and husband, John; sisters, Elaine Kolb and Delores Dolpp; sister-in-law, Phyllis Guthrie; granddaughters, Kelsey Harris, Cheryl Lowe,and Christina Lowe; grandson, Taylor Lowe; great-grandson, Brandon Lowe; great-granddaughter, Emma Harris and Kara Young.
