Frances Charlene Curtis passed away peacefully in Waco, Texas on August 31, 2023 at the age of 97.
Charlene was born on November 2, 1925 in Maverick, Texas to Walter and Henry Seipp. She attended Ballinger High School where she spoke often of her memories being in the High School Marching Band. She raised two children alongside her husband of 47 years, Dub, and still managed to keep an immaculate house. Known to most as Murr, Charlene was loved and respected by anyone who knew her. She had many talents and one heck of a sassy personality! She was a wonder in the kitchen and loved cooking for her family. Charlene contracted polio at a young 17 years of age, but that did not slow her down one bit. She was blessed with a good life, a wonderful loving husband, and taught those around her by example on how to be a good and loving wife. She will be greatly missed.
Charlene is preceded in death by her husband W.E.Curtis, her son Gary Lynn Curtis, her father Walter Siepp, her mother Henry Seipp, her brothers Sonny and Nelson Seipp, and her sister Ruth Moncrief Bird.
She is survived by her daughter Lana Duggins (David), her granddaughters Laura Bleimeyer (Dusty), Susan Givens (Bill), Holly Braly (Paul), Misty Curtis Guzman (Andy), and her grandsons Tracy Mahoney (Pam), Brian Curtis (Lyndsey), and Justin Curtis (Heather), as well as, 17 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and a great great great grandchild due in December, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Graveside, Friday September 8, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas at 11:00am. There will be a brief visitation and viewing at the start of the service.
We would like to give a special thanks to the Care Givers at St. Catherines Waco for the care they provided to our Murr for the past 7 years.
