Cecil Lathern

Cecil Lathern passed away peacefully on June 8, 2017 at Providence Hospital surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Grace Gardens Funeral home followed by interment at Rosemound Cemetery with Rev. Roy W. Marshall officiating.

Cecil was born in Dallas County on April28, 1923 to the union of E.J. Lathern and Anne Lee. Cecil joined in matrimony to Mary Lee King on Feb. 1, 1941. He retired as Shop Manager from Davis Iron Works after 37 years of service in 1999.

Cecil is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Drummond.

He is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Mary Lee Lathern with whom he shared 76 years of Marriage, daughter, Pat Gummelt and husband Ed of Woodway, TX; sons, Jay Lathern and wife Mary Ann of Woodway, TX; Gary Lathern of White Bluff, TX; Steve Lathern and wife, Barbara of Robinson, TX; Son-In-Law, David Drummond of Groesbeck, TX, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Downsville Baptist Church in memory of Cecil Lathern.
