Carolyn Solomon-Napier age 66, of Waco passed away Tuesday July 5, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 11AM Friday July 8, 2011 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Father Raj officiating and Chaplain Greg Knippa assisting. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The recitation of the Rosary will be at 6PM Thursday July 7, 2011 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with the visitation to follow until 8PM.
Carolyn was born April 17, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Mary Alfino. She was retired from the Veterans Administration System as a program developer and manager specialist for various mental health programs including drug and alcohol rehabilitation and forensic counseling. One of her goals was to establish shelters for homeless veterans, recovering drug addicts and alcoholics. Her dream was to help as many people as she could in her lifetime.
She loved working her yard and remodeling houses with her husband Marvin. Her favorite flowers were white daisies.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father of Brooklyn, New York.
She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin; her daughter, Lisa; two sons, David and Elliott; sisters, Frances and Rosemary; and grandchildren, Tyler and Dillon.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Providence Hospice and the support of many friends and coworkers during her illness.
