Carolyn Molly Lobrecht passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Services will be held on Saturday, November 16, at 2:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church in Waco, Texas. Her family will be at the church at 1:00 PM for those wishing to visit.
Carolyn Molly Seeman was born in 1928 to Erich Seeman and Emily Hirsch. She and her five sisters grew up on a small family farm near Kurten, Texas, later moving to Bryan.
The farm is where Carolyn developed a lifelong love of gardening and nature which she passed on to her children and many of her grandchildren. She also learned the values of hard work and that family is far more valuable than material wealth.
After graduating from business college Carolyn worked at Texas A&M where she met her future husband, Alfred Lobrecht. They married in 1948, a union that would last 54 years until Al’s passing in 2002. They raised five children, all of whom remain close to this day.
Al’s career with Mobil Oil resulted in over 20 moves, each one successful due to Carolyn’s strength and dedication to providing a loving home for her family.
Carolyn and Al loved travel and saw much of the world together. Her vivid memories of the many countries and cultures she experienced were always among the family’s favorite stories.
Carolyn’s greatest legacy is her family. “MommyMom” to her 26 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Carolyn remained quick-witted until her passing and was the family’s best resource to keep track of the ever-evolving family tree as well as it’s history over many generations. Frequent family reunions were always well-attended because everyone wanted to spend time with “MommyMom”.
She was loving, generous, compassionate and always put others before herself. All who knew and loved her shared a common goal - to be more like Carolyn. While she will be missed, she will forever live on in the hearts of her entire family.
Carolyn is survived by Nancy and Robert Ross of Norman, Oklahoma, Gene Lobrecht of Houston, Texas, Janet and Richard Sloan of Humble, Texas, Kay and James Moore of McGregor, Texas, and Betty and Brian McDonald of Waco, Texas.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in Waco, Texas.
