Carolyn Johnson

Carolyn Sue Johnson went to be with our Lord Sunday, January 16, 2011. Services will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Home at 2:00 pm January 19, 2011. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday January 18, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Carolyn “Sue” was born October 11, 1945 in Athens, Texas to Lee Roy and Millie Marie Buckner. Sue married James H. Johnson, Jr. December 17, 1966.

Carolyn was a devoted Air Force wife and mother. Carolyn was blessed with four grandchildren who lovingly called her Nanny.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Brother Little Henry; Sister Sadie Iona Windham.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, James H. Johnson, Jr.; a son Steven Johnson and wife Paula of Axtell; a daughter LaDonna Johnson of Hewitt. Four grandchildren, Blake Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Brandon Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson. Brother Roy Hershel Buckner and wife Virginia of Fort Worth,Texas, sister Margaret Jumper of Paris, Texas and brother Hulen Buckner and wife Jeri of Argyle, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Blake Johnson, Robert Maske , Charles Windom, Eugene Smith, Thomas Moore, and Brandon Johnson.

The family would like to thank Carol Steiger, Kaci Spencer and Loretta Lewis for their tender loving care of Carolyn.
