Carol Brenda (Suominen) Wells

Carol B. Wells (nee Suominen), 79, passed away January 5, 2021 with her youngest daughter by her side.

She was born to Lauri V. And Helen E. Suominen in Gardner, Massachusetts.  Mid-Summer of 1958 she eloped with Richard Stehle, became a Navy wife, and together they raised two daughters.

Carol went on to become a Psychiatric Technician and worked many years for the State of California and for the County of Ventura.  When she wasn't working she was fishing in the Eastern Sierras.  She finally retired to Bishop, CA so she could fish more often.

While living in Bishop, she volunteered at Wild Burro Rescue in Olancha; and Wildcare Eastern Sierra in Bishop.  Her house always had a rescued cat sleeping on the couch.  She had compassion for animals, a generosity of spirit, and always made sure her lipstick was in her fishing vest pocket.

Carol is survived by her two daughters, two grandsons, her younger brother and her long-time partner, Carl in Bishop, CA.  There will be no service.  She will be interred next to her parents in Green Bower Cemetery in Gardner, MA.

Those wishing to honor her life can make a donation in her name to Alzheimer's Association.

Alzheimer's didn't get her, but the COVID-19 did.  Wear a mask and wash your hands you filthy animals.
