Carol Annette (Claridy) Copeland

Carol Annette Copeland, 60, of Waco, Texas left this life peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of life service will be held at a Gathering Oaks Retreat, 316 Canyon Oaks Road, Crawford, TX 76638, on January 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm.

Carol was born January 10, 1960 in Waco,Texas to Carrol "Bud" and Wanda (Burgamy) Claridy. She was the youngest of five children. Carol was married to her soul mate, Duke Copeland for 32 years and they had two children.

Carol was a loving mother to her children, and she found joy in staying home to raise them. She was very involved with the PTA, for which she received a lifetime membership award, and she loved being active in school activities and volunteered any time there was an event. She especially loved watching her son Beau play baseball and football, and her daughter Sarah playing golf.

Carol was an amazing cook and host, and she looked forward to holidays when she could lavish care and attention on her friends and family, which she did  through the year. Carol also enjoyed doing things outdoors and just being with her friends and family. Her pride and joy was being Gigi to her grandson Liam. She got a special joy out of watching him grow and discover things for the first time, and she enjoyed being able to take care of him during the day just as she did with her children. Her loving care will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives. In her free time she liked listening to classical rock, country, and R & B music, reading, and gardening. She also loved spending her mornings on her patio drinking coffee with her husband, or whoever stopped by that morning.

Carol was an amazing soul mate, mother, Gigi, daughter, and sister. She had a glorious soul and her heart was full of love. She touched so many lives and everyone was better for knowing her.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Bud Claridy; brothers, Gene Claridy, and David Claridy, all of whom she missed dearly.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Duke; children, Sarah Copeland, and Beau Copeland; grandson, Liam; mother, Wanda Claridy; siblings Don Claridy and wife Mary, Cindy Claridy; and special extended family members Joyce Lillard, and daughter Robyn Lillard,  and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She will be with us always and remembered lovingly by all.
