Carol Ackermann

Carol Ackermann, 96, of Waco passed away, Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at a local nursing home. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 14 at Woodway First United Methodist Church, 21000 Woodway Dr with Rev. John Dirk and Pastor Rebecca Hull officiating. Carol will be interred in Willmar, MN at a later date.

Carol Peace (Sisson) Ackermann was born November 11, 1918 in Spiritwood, ND to Byron and Caroline (Harrison) Sisson. She was one of 8 siblings. Carol earned her teaching degree and taught in a one room school house for a few years. She then met and married Arnold Ackermann, August of 1941, the love of her life. They enjoyed traveling as much as going to their lakehouse on Eagle Lake in Willmar, MN. Carol was very loved by her family, and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband for 30 years, Arnold Ackermann, three brothers and 3 sisters.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Jane Hagy and husband, Cliff; sister, Blanche Schuett and husband, Orville; granddaughter, Barbara Hopps and husband, Jim; grandson, Paul Elkjer and wife, Kim; 4 great-grandchildren Michael Lamb, Kristin lamb, Erin Elkjer, Brooke Elkjer; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Caden Lamb; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Woodway First United Methodist Church, 21000 Woodway Dr, or any charity of your choice.
