Caritina Rincon Gonzales, 86, of Hewitt passed away Monday, April 17, 2017. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 21 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 9820 Chapel Rd. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr.
Caritina was the youngest of 10 children. She was born October 5, 1930 to Francisco and Maria Rincon in Copeland Texas. She was married to Candido M Gonzales for 63 years until his passing, July 7, 2014. They had ten children, seven daughters and three sons. She was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church and was active in her faith. She spent a short time in the work force employed at The Cookie Company and Marathon Battery, after which she spent the remaining years as a homemaker and caregiver to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to knit, crochet, cook, and bake. Caritina also like to play the piano and dance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and
husband.
Caritina is survived by her seven daughters, Justine Marquez, Christine Mendoza and husband, Raymond, Selma Lopez and husband, Jerry, Rita Jackson and husband Larry, Mary Lou Castillo and husband, Robert, Margie Jasso and husband, David, and Lupe Kesen and Jimmy Chavez; sons, Candido Gonzales Jr., Esteban "Steve" Gonzales, and Gerado "Jerry" Gonzales. She is also survived by her 32 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jose C. Veliz III, Art Hernandez II, Michael Kesen, Angelo Castillo, Alex Joseph Jasso, and Christopher C Jackson.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Greenview Manor for their care of Caritina.
