Cameo was born in 1977, to John and Kathy (Conway) Drewitz in Rapid City, South Dakota. She spent the first 3 years of her life on the family farm in Creighton, South Dakota, before the family moved to Rapid City. She attended Rapid City Christian School, graduating in 1995 with honors, and attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology for two years. In 1997 she married Kenneth Melichar of Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Waco, Texas. In 2000, Cameo received a degree in Computer Science from Baylor University and worked for L3 Technologies and Baylor University. In 2004, Ken and Cameo welcomed their first child into this world and Cameo decided to take a break in her career and become a stay at home mother. Two additional children followed in 2006 and 2011. Her children were her passion and she poured herself into them showing the love that only a mother can. Cameo also found a calling by volunteering with the Youth and College Groups at Central United Methodist Church. She was blessed by the people that she worked with and made many lasting friendships through that ministry.
