Crawford and Waco

Bobby Ray Harris, former Crawford business man of Waco,  passed away Friday morning, September 17, 2021, at the age of 86.

Bobby was born in Crawford, Texas July 4, 1935, the 4th child of the late Gilbert Turner and Mae Belle (Jackson) Harris.  He was a 1953 graduate of Crawford High School and continued his education at the University of Texas in Austin.  He served his country in the United States Army and was a reservist until 1962.  Bobby was employed by Rocketdyne in McGregor and owned and operated Harris TV and Appliance in Crawford for many years.  It has been said he could repair or build almost anything and had the tools to prove it.  Antique cars, playing dominos, “shooting the breeze” in Crawford, outdoor stuff, “honey do’s” made him a busy man in his retirement years.

Preceding him in death was his first wife, Ann Beard Harris; brothers, Jack, Bruce and Billy; sisters, Doris Luckie, Martha Gill; a nephew, Bradley Robinson.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Harris; a son Len Ray Harris; sister, Carol Robinson and husband Johnnie and his dearly loved dog Casey the Cavalier.

For those desiring, the family has suggested memorial contributions to Crawford High School Scholarship Fund.

Due to the Covid Pandemic, there are not any services scheduled at this time.  Inurnment will be in Crawford Cemetery.
