Bobbie Jo (Tate) Murphy, 78, of Eddy, passed away May 30, 2016, at a local hospital with her family and friends by her side. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday June 4th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr. Waco, TX with Rev. Randy Skivner officiating and Rev. Denis Rogers along with Chuck Ellis, a nephew and soloist, Kathy Rejeck. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 3rd at Grace Gardens.

Bobbie was born October 27, 1937 in Abbott, Texas to Sam and Josie Tate and moved to Waco in 1940. She met the love of her life, Burl Murphy, in the third grade and married him on February 5, 1954, in San Antonio at Lackland Air-force Base, While Burl was in San Antonio, Bobbie was still in Waco, he had everything perfect for her when she arrived. They raised two children together, Brinda and Blane.

She worked at First Financial from 1980 to 1985 followed by Dr. Schoffner 1985 to 1993 who sold his practice to Dr. Randy Bryson where she worked from 1993-1995. She retired when she was diagnosed with Acoldaglutenanemia, which required her to remain above 90 degrees. She was only the second person in Waco, TX to be diagnosed in 1995. Bobbies favorite pastime was spending time with her family and grandkids, crocheting, and playing slot machines. Bobbie was known as “Nanny Bobbie” by all of her grandkids and most others. Finally she and Burl worked as a door great at Walmart for 6 years.

She was proceed in Death by her loving husband, Burl, Mother and Dad and brother, W.R Tate. Bobbie is survived by her sister in law, Doris Dollins, daughter Brinda Fields and husband, Billy; son Blane Murphy and Cindy; and Janice Walling, who was like her second daughter; grandkids Nicki Fields and Lisa, Crystal Ford, Brian Fields and Elizabeth, Michael Murphy and Belinda, and Miranda Rodriguez and Gus; great- grandkids Taylor Driskell, Jessica Hernandez and Keith, Megan Pennington, Morgan Fields, Ashlin Fields, Landon Fields, Madison Ford, LeeAngel and Noah Rodriguez; great- great grand baby Brantley Edwards, and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
