Bobbie Gross, 85, of Woodway, passed away on March 12, 2022, after many years of heart problems. A Visitation will be 1 pm, Saturday, March 19th at Old West Cowboy Church, 1412 S. Robinson Dr., Robinson, Texas 76706. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 pm. There will be a private family burial later.
Bobbie was born on September 13, 1936, in Stamford, Texas to Cleone and ET Salmon. She married William Donald Carpenter in 1953 in Stephenville and moved multiple places while he served in the USAF, finally settling in Athens, GA. Together they had four daughters before his death on December 1, 1966. Bobbie moved her family to Stephenville in January 1967 to be close to her mom and dad. She married again in 1967 to Benjamin Edward Blakenship whom she donated a kidney to, and ultimately passed in 1972. She then married the love of her life, Charles Wayne Gross, who passed in November 2016. Her and “Chuck” lived in Stephenville, Waco, and Bryan where she had her dream job working at Texas A & M. She earned a multitude of awards and recognitions through the years. Her most proud moment while there was serving on the Presidential Committee and being honored by the honor guard on a stage at Kyle Field. She was a very proud Aggie, retiring twice from A & M.
Bobbie walked in faith daily with Jesus, she loved her family and friends, celebrating holidays especially Christmas, baking, cooking, sewing, crafting, and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands; her brother, Wilburn Salmon; daughter, Donna Beth Carpenter; grandsons, JT McElwrath, Timothy Cunningham, Eric Cunningham; granddaughter, Kaci Nicole Rannals; and her three fur babies.
She is survived by sisters, Wynelle Young, of Graham, TX, Becky Allen and husband Charles of Morganfield, KY; daughters, Becky Carpenter of Waco, TX, Margaret Carpenter of Hamilton TX, Linda Rannals of Woodway, TX; grandchildren, Andy Miller, Missy Waugh, T’awna Free, Brandy Rannals, Chad McElwrath, Appollo and Kristi Long, Sandra Arnold, Amanda Arnold; 24 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
