Blane Kenan Bartek, 51, of Hewitt, Texas died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his residence. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 11 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home (8220 Woodway Drive, Woodway, Texas) followed by a Rosary service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Waco, Texas with Rev. Rakshaganathan Selvaraj as celebrant. Interment will be held at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple, Texas at a later date.
Blane was born on July 25, 1964 in Temple to Wallace and Martha Bartek. He was raised in Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1982. He attended Texas State Technical College where he received his AAS degree in Electronics Technology in 1984. He married the love of his life, Gabriella Galadriel Titus on August 29, 1998.
Blane began his electronics technology career as a two-way communication technician with Wear Radio Service in Bellmead, Texas in August 1984. He was last employed by Brazos Electric Cooperative in Waco as a communication technician.
Blane was an active member at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Hewitt where he was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 13005 and played bass in the Chapel Road Band. Blane loved spending time with his family and friends, especially Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. His second love was music and he played bass guitar with many bands, including Southern Pride, Firecreek, the Bell County Bohemian Brass Band and Barbecue Society.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wallace James Bartek. He is survived by his wife, Gabie Bartek; two daughters, Rachel Vaughn and Alena; and one son, Justin. He is also survived by his mother, Martha Bartek of Belton; a sister Belinda and her husband Bruce Minzenmayer of Temple; a brother Brice Bartek and his wife Cynthia of Austin. He has one nephew, Andrew Minzenmayer of Houston; and two nieces, Kathleen Bartek of Austin and Kelly Bartek of Denton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church “Building Fund” at 9820 Chapel Road, Waco, TX 76712.
