Bill Thorn

William (Bill) Thorn passed away April 2, 2015.. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Whitehall Cemetery, located in Whitehall Park at the intersection of Fresno Road and
Santa Fe Drive in Woodway. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive.

Bill was born on July 8, 1933 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and then moved to Texas at an early age. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and then began a career the Federal Aviation Administration. After retirement from the FAA, Bill served as a deputy in the McLennan County Sheriffs Department and then later retired from law enforcement to begin his own air conditioning business. He greatly enjoyed fishing and relaxing with friends at Lake Limestone.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, of Waco; a sister, Ruth Ibendahl of Seagoville; brothers-in-law Robert Kendrick and wife, Cleta, of Waco, and Jack Kendrick and wife, Labeta of Brownsboro; and extended family and friends.
