B.G. "Glenn" Melton

Biography

B. G. "Glenn" Melton, 80 of Waco passed on peacefully Friday, August 7, 2009 at a local hospital, while surrounded by his loving family. Services are scheduled for 10AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Gray officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6-8PM Monday, August 10, 2009 at the funeral home.

Glenn was born September 19, 1928 in Cooke County, Texas to Norman and Mattie Melton. Glenn worked as an accountant/purchasing agent until early retirement, when he and his wife, Joan started The Sawmill, an antiques and craft business in Lorena, Texas. After 13 years, Glenn and Joan moved to Hewitt where they resided and continued their passion for dancing, family, faith and friends until his passing. Glenn was an avid photographer and enjoyed playing and listening to music. His family and friends will miss his wonderful stories.

He is survived by his wife Joan of 60 years, son David and wife Donna of Fort Worth, son Jeffrey of Waco, daughter Vicki and husband Karey of Woodway, grandson Sol of Temple, sister-in-laws Gwen Arnett and husband Charles, and Linda Smith of Wichita Falls and many nieces and nephews and friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Mattie Melton, brothers J.E., Elmer, and Darrel Melton, and sister Lena Mae Jones.

Customary floral tributes shall be appreciated and surely comforting, but in lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Woodway, 101 Richie Road, Woodway, Texas 76712 or to CARITAS, 300 S. 15th Street, Waco, Texas 76701.
