Beverly Bass-Heffernan

Beverly Celiene Bass Heffernan of Eddy, formerly of Groesbeck, passed away on the afternoon of Sept 21 surrounded by her family and close friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m., at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.

Beverly was born June 22, 1958 to Gene Lloyd Bass and Mary Elizabeth Wright Bass at Cox’s hospital in Groesbeck. Family history dates back to the late 1800’s. Beverly graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1976. After graduation she attended TSTI to pursue a degree in computers. She also went into the Air Force for a short period. She then moved to Austin, Texas in 1979 to live with her sister. There she met John Heffernan whom she married on June 22, 1981. They had two beautiful children. They separated in 1987, but have remained close friends all these years.

Beverly was preceded in death byher parents; sisters Pamela and Teresa; brother Gene Bass; and niece Gina Moore.

She is survived by her daughter Amber Buttry and husband Curtis; son T.J. Heffernan; four grandchildren Jonathan Gerik, and Hayden, Kirsten and Jersey
Buttry;nephew Ronnie Fritz; best friends John Heffernan and girlfriend Connie Cocanougher; and family friends Valerie Swanner and Ryan Chaudoin.

The family would like to thank Providence Hospice, especially Mary, Dion Samantha, and Lauri.
