Betty Wilkerson

Betty Ruth Quested Wilkerson, 82, of Waco passed way on Friday, September 6, 2013. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Rosemound Cemetery with Reverend LeAnn Ryan officiating.

Betty Ruth was born April 7, 1931 in Houston to Walter David and Clarice B. Quested. She lived the first 30 plus years in the Galveston/Hitchcock area before moving to Waco in 1962. She was a member of Sweet Adeline's for several years and enjoyed performing and singing. She retired from Brazos Electric COOP in 1993. As a young woman she was married to Bernhard "Andy" Anderson and later married Charles A. Hayes in Waco, both deceased.

Betty Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; brother; and sister.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Lee and husband John Bickerstaff, and Pamela and husband Randy Coulter; grandsons, Mark, Michael, and Matthew Bickerstaff which were her great joys in life; and 7 great-grandchildren. All the grandchildren lovingly called her "Granny B."
