Betty Lou Walker, 89, of Waco passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 pm, Thursday, March 9th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2pm, Friday, March 10th at River City Church. Interment will follow at Crawford Cemetery.
Betty Lou Mansel was born February 18, 1934 in Franklin, Texas to Enoch and Roda Mansel. She was the second of ten children. She attended school in Franklin. She had a chance meeting with the love of her life, Virgil Ray Walker, in Waco. The couple shared 48 years of wedded bliss and had seven children.
Betty was an amazing and accomplished cook, and she enjoyed cooking, making it both her hobby and her career. Nothing made her happier than her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted and life long member of River City Church.
She was welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband; daughter; Cheryl Steel; 3 grandchildren; one great grandchild; 5 siblings.
Betty will live on in the hearts of her children, Beverly White, Sandra Moore, Michael Walker and wife Daryla, Missy Ramey and husband Jessie, Becky Walker and husband Josh, Patrick Walker and wife Lyndsey; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and four siblings.
The family wishes to thank Providence Hospice for their loving care.
