Betty Moran Mullins of Waco entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ—and was reunited with her beloved husband of 35 years, Cecil Norman “Moon” Mullins—Monday July 5, 2010, in Dallas at the home of her daughter, Lisa Vines Frazier, surrounded by her Family, many loved ones, and much love, joy, happiness, and singing. She demonstrated strength, courage, grace, and dignity in life and in death, and was deeply loved by her children. She was preceded in death by Moon in 1987. Betty was born March 10, 1933, in Waco to Walter and Sarah Moran. She graduated from Waco High School, where she actively participated in the band. She graduated from Baylor University in 1952 with a Bachelor in Education, where she was a member of DAP and was a Baylor Beauty. Betty loved and supported Baylor, remaining active by serving on the Fling Committee and Round Table for many years, and coordinating with the Bear Club in selecting the annual recipient of the Moon Mullins Award. She moved several times with Moon, living the longest in Dallas and Waco. After Moon’s death, Betty went to work for the Baylor University ROTC as Administrative Assistant to Colonel Don Riley, retiring this past January after 20 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waco, where she was in the Bob Patterson Sunday School class for over 20 years. Betty loved being with her grandchildren, playing bridge and the fellowship it brought, and gardening.

She is survived by her sister, Darlene Bowman, of Abilene; her children: Vicki Mullins of Dallas; Mike Mullins of Waco; Lisa Vines Frazier (Charlie) of Dallas; and Missy McReynolds (Dan) of Waco; and her grandchildren: Calli Vines, Jake Vines, Michelle Mullins, Addison Mullins, Grayson McReynolds, and Case McReynolds.

Visitation is this Wednesday, July 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive, Waco. A memorial service will be held this Thursday, July 8, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Waco. Contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the Moon Mullins Endowment at Baylor University in memory of Betty Mullins, 1 Bear Place #97050, Waco, Texas 76798.
