Betty was born July 29th, 1932 in Long Lake, Texas to Orville and Cleo Jarrard. She had 3 sisters, Pearl, Essie, and Jean who she loved to spend time with and visit often, and a brother, Bill, who they lost at a young age. She married Charles Henry Kueck October 9th, 1948. Charlie and Betty had three children, Larry, Glenn, and Joy. After Charlie’s passing she finished her BA in Education at Hardin Simmons University. In 1969 she married Jimmy McKinney. Their blended family lived in West Texas and later moved to Houston.

One of Betty’s lifelong passions was teaching. She taught for over 20 years in several schools across Texas, developing reading programs for elementary kids. Even after retiring, she taught kids to read and was trained to teach Godly Play. Godly Play became a passion of hers for many years. One of the joys in her life was playing the piano for many churches that she attended throughout her life.

After Jimmy’s passing and her retirement from teaching she developed a love for traveling. She visited Russia with her choir, New Zealand with a close friend, Italy, Germany and a few other European countries with family. In 1997 she married her former high school sweetheart and moved with Ed Mann to his home in Yorktown, Texas.

Betty was preceded in death by her son Glenn Kueck, her husband Charles Kueck, Jimmy McKinney, and Ed Mann, her parents Orville and Cleo Jarrard, and her siblings Bill Jarrard, Pearl Lacy, and Essie Hart.

During her 84 years her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to travel to see all of them across Texas and the country.
