Betty June Crouch, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, will be fondly remembered for her warm smile and kind heart. Born on October 9, 1935, in Kavito, Kentucky to Harold and Elsie Tompkins, she grew up in Somerset, Kentucky, where she graduated from high school. Throughout her life, Betty found joy in working on the family farm, alongside her father, cultivating the land with care and dedication.
Betty married the love of her life, Melvin Millard Crouch, on November 2, 1953. Together, they shared a life filled with love, adventure, and devotion to their family. Betty supported her husband's entrepreneurial pursuits as they raised their children in several states. After retirement, they returned to the tranquility of the family farm in Somerset before relocating to Waco, Texas, to enjoy their golden years.
A talented seamstress and artist, Betty had an eye for design and a knack for creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Her family always came first, and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter brought her immense joy. A faithful member of Central Presbyterian Church in Woodway, she found solace and community in her spiritual home.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mel; her brother, Dune; and sisters, Nila and Karon. She leaves behind her sister, Cynthia Boone; children, Richard Crouch and wife Kristin from Sorum, Norway, and Vicky Wolfe and husband Chris from Woodway, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Crouch, Morgan Williams and husband Jacob, and Courtney Lys and husband Jared, Mailen Mollegaard, Silje Mollegaard and husband Jostein Oysaed; great-grandchildren, Wren, Willow, and Witten Williams, and Evelyn Avalos, Amalie, Ada, Elias Mollegaard Oysaed.
Visitation to celebrate Betty's life will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. A private family burial at Waco Memorial Park. A Memorial service will take place at 2 pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Central Presbyterian Church. Betty's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Wesley Woods for her extraordinary care, and the love and care they received from Providence Hospice.
