She also attended North Junior of Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 1947. She earned her law certification degree from LaSalle Extension University in 1965. She married Herman Thiele on June 04, 1949 and they had three children. Bertha was a long time member and leader of Youngblood Memorial Presbyterian Church in Robinson. Bertha worked as a homemaker for all of her life. She also served as secretary for Service Memorial Methodist Church, Secretary for The Waco Bone and Joint Clinic, Insurance clerk for Dr. William Roddy, and catered wedding receptions and other celebrations. Bertha retired and built her own A-frame cabin on the family farm. Bertha loved being a country girl, sitting on her front porch, avoiding rattlesnakes, and watching the deer pass by.
She was preceded in death by her sister Stanley Denison Purifoy and a son Dennis Herman Thiele.
She is survived by a son Curtis Elbert Thiele of Crosby Texas; a daughter Emily Ann Thiele Corley and her husband Randal of Waco; a brother Billy Barnes Denison of Missouri; five grandchildren Stanton, Clint, Travis, Mallory and Monica Corley; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bertha’s family would like to thank the numerous, wonderful caregivers at Regent Care and Providence Hospice that helped us through these past few years.
