Barbara A. Johnson Kraft, 88, of Robinson, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023. A visitation will be 6-8PM on Thursday, January 19, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive in Woodway. Funeral services will be at 10:30AM on Friday, January 20, at Grace Gardens in Woodway. A burial service will follow at Waco Memorial Park, 6223 I-35 in Robinson.
Barbara A. Johnson Kraft was born August 30, 1934, in Darnell, LA to Evon Johnson and Iva Ruth Hawsey Johnson. She graduated from Pioneer High School in 1952 and attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA from 1952-55 where she graduated with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education. Her first teaching assignment was in Shreveport, LA. Early in 1956, she met her husband, Raymond L. Kraft, who was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA. They were married May 26, 1956 and moved to Jennings, KS. During their first 13 years of marriage, Barbara taught for 9 years and had 4 children.
In 1969, Raymond's job brought them to Robinson, TX, and Barbara continued to teach for 21 years in the Robinson Independent School District before retiring in 1992. After retiring, she continued impacting children's lives by substitute teaching for another 16 years. Upon retirement, Barbara and Raymond enjoyed spending time with friends and family members including their 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as fishing, gardening, woodworking, casinos, and traveling.
Preceding Barbara in death was her husband of 60 years, Raymond, in 2016, her parents, brother Virgil Johnson, aunt Corene Archer, and granddaughter Lindsay Kraft.
She is survived by daughter Ramona Holland and husband Paul, and family Robert Brown and wife Cara, and Cyla, Andrew Ragland and wife Angela and children Makayla, Taylar, and Drew; son Glenn Kraft and family Glenn Kraft Jr. and sons Reece, Roman, Dominic, and Santino, Jonathan Kraft and wife Lacey and son Tex; daughter Karen Kay Balli and husband Mario and daughter Kelsey; daughter Joan Mader and husband Tom, and family Megan Lemieux and husband Curtis, and Tammy Erdmann and husband Frank. Barbara is also survived by sister Kathy Huff and husband Ken, and children Mandi and Shane, brothers Tony and Wayne Johnson, sister-in-law Rose Arnhold, Aunt Margie Tinker, cousin Drenda Heydel, and many nieces and nephews.
