Barbara Jean (Doughtry) Hargrove

Barbara Jean (Doughty) Hargrove of Eddy passed away suddenly  Wednesday night, May 18, 2022, at the age of 86.  A visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2022, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr.  The graveside service and interment will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Eddy Cemetery with Rev. Lee Casey officiating.

Mrs. Hargrove was born December 27, 1935, in Pendleton, Texas, the daughter of Jesse Orlando and Margaret (Martin) Doughty, one of thirteen children. During her life, she was employed by numerous stores as a clerk with her last being Miacle’s in Eddy.  On July 10, 1950, she married Truman (Bud) Ray Hargrove in Waco, Texas, who has preceded her in death.  Together, they had two children; Truman Ray (Butch) Hargrove, Jr.  and Teresa Jeanene Hargrove Giddens.

Also preceding her in death were her husband and both of her children; brothers, Marvin, Chester, Orland, Elmer, Robert Lee, Don, Bruce and Jessie; four sisters, Annie Mae Baggerly, Dorothy Rawlings, Margaret Ulcnik and Katherine Tate.

Survivors include a Son-in-Law, David (Butch) Giddens of Valley Mills; a Daughter-in-Law, June Hargrove of Eddy and friend Paul Ashmore; two grandsons, Joshua Hargrove and fiancé Ashley of Gatesville, Jacob Hargrove and Katlin of McKinney; five great grandchildren, Kelby, Weston, Avery, Aslinn, Ian all of Gatesville and one on the way from McKinney and one little furry companion, Sadie.

Barbara and her family requests no floral contributions; however, for those desiring, the family has suggested Bruceville Community Church, 581 Old Moody Road, Bruceville, Texas 76524 or the Bruceville Fire Department, Eddy, Texas 76524, to memorialize Barbara.
