Barbara Goad age 75 of Waco passed away Friday August 27, 2010 at her home in Lorena. Memorial Services will be Monday at 5:00PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Pendleton officiating.
Barbara was born on June 13, 1935 in Leakey, TX to Jackson and Mable Fisher. She was as All-State basketball player at Leakey High School. She was a homemaker her whole life, and was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved the outdoors, fishing, nature and doing crafts.
Barbara is survived by her husband Joe Thomas Goad of Lorena; son Gerald Goad and wife Cathy of Carlsbad, New Mexico; daughter Terry Fretty and husband Pat of Hewitt; son Greg Goad and wife Lisa of Moody; daughter Susan Parker and husband J.B. of Artesia, New Mexico; brother Calvin Fisher of Kerrville; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send out a special thank you to Visiting Angels, who loving cared for “Mom” and to Providence Hospice and also Valerie for her devoted care. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Barbara Goad.
