Athalene Diddle Teague, 94, of Moody, passed away on November 6th, at her residence. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 14th at First United Methodist Church, Moody, TX, in the Fellowship Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the service immediately following in the Sanctuary with Brother Don Johnson and Reverend William A. Sterling officiating. Burial will follow at Moody Cemetery.
Mrs. Teague was born September 24, 1915, in Moody to Lennie and Ina Mae Welch Diddle. Athalene was a wonderful, loving mother and will be greatly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Dayton on August 10, 1978.
Athalene was a retired Dental assistant, having retired in 1977. She was the first president of the Dental Assistant Association while employed at Ft. Hood . She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Elizabeth Gordon Bradley Chapter of Waco, as is her daughter, Montie Len Watkins.
Survivors include three daughters, Joy May Bass, of McGregor, Dinah Kay and her husband Bryant Spradley of Palestine, and Montie Len and her husband Ned Watkins of Houston ; ten grandchildren, one an angel at age 15; eighteen great grandchildren, one an angel at age 12; and six great great grandchildren.
