Arthur R. "Art" Layton passed away unexpectedly in Waco, Texas on July 5, 2021, at the age of 68. A memorial service will be at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 14,2021 in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr. with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Following the service, there will be a brief time of visitation.
Mr. Layton was born on July 30, 1952 in Belfalls, TX. He grew up in Troy, TX and graduated from Troy High School. For forty-four years, he was a valued employee of Oncor where he was recently a maintenance and construction supervisor. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, barbeques, watching old movies and sports. The Texas Longhorns football and baseball teams as well as the Houston Astros were among his favorites. He was a great husband, father and grandfather to his family and a great friend to many people over the years especially within the Waco and Oncor community. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Waco. While Art will be deeply missed, we can be comforted by the fact that he passed away quickly and peacefully with support from his family and friends, and is now in the next step of his eternal journey. Art passed while supported by his immediate family and many great friends (Oncor family). Art is survived by his wife Tracey Ann Layton and grandchildren Jordyn Yglecias, Braelyn Clark and Landon Clark that he was helping raise and loved them as his own. He is also survived by a son Marvin Layton and wife Bamb); three daughters Brandy Ramos and husband Joe, Nicole Stuard and husband Storm, Jessica Lumpkin and husband Patton; step children, Brandon Clark and wife Melissa, Stasia Cosby and husband Quan and Danielle Clark; numerous grandchildren to include Ares Bly, Nyx Bly, Erik Ramos and Emma Ramos.
