Arlan James Moravec (Big A) age 53, of Fairfield, Texas passed away Sunday January 15, 2012 at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. Funeral Services will held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at the First Assembly of God Church Teague, Texas with Pastor Spain Trask officiating.
Arlan was born June 23, 1958 in Havre, Montana to Frank and Audrey Moravec. He graduated from Have High School in 1978. After high school, Arlan attended Northern Montana College where he received degrees in auto and diesel mechanics. In 1985, he moved to Texas and was employed by West Moreland Coal Company at the Jewett Mine as a mechanic and tool room manager for the last 23 years. Arlan enjoyed working on the family farm and spending hours working in the field. He loved riding around on the big versatile tractor in Montana. When he moved to Texas, Arlan was still found driving a tractor; just a little smaller version, or his 1946 Willy Jeep. Arlan will be remembered most for his positive attitude adn always having a big smile on his face. He cherished his church, family, and many wonderful friends.
Arlan was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Moravec.
He is survived by his father Frank Moravec; Step-mother Charlene Silvan; sister Jamee Gatzemeier; nephews Travis and Jeremy Gatzemeier; aunt Ginny Hopkins; and numerous aunts, uncles, beloved friends; and his girlfriend Torri Ridgell-Wood.
