Antonio "Tony" Rodriguez

Antonio "Tony" Gutierrez Rodriguez Jr, 80, of Waco went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 21 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday June 20 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Tony was born September 23, 1935 in Waco, Texas to Antonio and Sarah Rodriguez. He graduated from Waco High School in 1954. He was joined in holy matrimony in 1955 to Doris Fields. From this union three children were born, Anthony F Rodriguez, James R Rodriguez and Patrick F Rodriguez.

Tony was best known for selling insurance in the Waco area. He was always there to lend a hand to those in need no matter what time of the day it was. He was involved with the local community including Meals on Wheels, American Red Cross, as well as several other organizations. He enjoyed fishing, music, shooting pool and spending time with his family. Tony will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and community.

He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Rodriguez; mother, Sarah Rodriguez; siblings, Johnny Rodriguez, Mary Francis Morales and grandson Ronnie Rodriguez.

Tony is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris; his sons, Anthony, James and Patrick Rodriguez; siblings, Mario, Lupe Alcala, Theodore "Ted", Rita, Joe, and Jessie "Jay Bird" Rodriguez; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
