Funeral services for Amy Evans Lara will be Thursday, December 26, 2024 in Waco, Texas.
With heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved Amy Evans Lara was called home on December 18, 2024, in Waco, Texas. She was born in Denison, Texas on October 25, 1980 to her loving and devoted parents, Clint and Judy Evans and welcomed into the world by her proud big brother Clint. Amy’s childhood was spent in Donie, Texas. She was active in 4H showing pigs and rabbits and this was an integral part of her life that created meaningful experiences and memories for her and her family. Amy was class president of the Class of 1999. She was voted most athletic and most talented, and she excelled in volleyball, basketball, and golf. She loved having one of her best friends’ dads, Coach Greg Huber, as her coach.
Amy went to nursing school in Waco, Texas following her high school graduation and made Waco her home. She became a Labor and Delivery nurse and this truly was her passion. She delivered so many of her friends babies and made an amazing impact on countless lives throughout her nursing career. She was empathetic, giving, thoughtful and she loved big. To know her was to love her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends, shopping, attending concerts with her friends and was actively attending First Methodist Church in Waco, Texas.
Amy married her husband Jeff February 19, 2011 and together they had 2 beautiful children, Wyatt and Georgia.
Her biggest accomplishment in life was her children. She loved them endlessly and was so grateful to be their mama. She enjoyed watching Wyatt excel at basketball and Georgia’s love for gymnastics.
Survivors are her husband, Jeff Lara; her children, Wyatt (13) and Georgia (10); her mother, Judy Evans; her father, Clint Evans Sr.; her brother, Clint Evans Jr and wife Emily; nephews Nate and Landon Evans. Mother in Law Jean Lara, father in law Ricardo Lara I and wife Linda, sister in law Misty Lara and husband Rene Salazar, Brother in law Ricardo Lara II, sister in law Jillian Lara, nieces Leah Salazar, Kaitlyn Perez, and Jamie Lara, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her very special group of friends – “THE GIRLS”.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Eldridge Eugene and Freddie Lee McAden, Lyndol Ray and Jimmie Evans, great grandmother Lera Pauline Sexton.
