Alvin Ray Adams, Jr., passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on December 11, 2014.Alvin was born in Waco, Texas on May 20, 1938. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Myrtle Madge Hall and Alvin Ray Adams, Sr., his sisters Norma Knudson, Brookscene Gollbach, Mary Francis Diggs, and his wife Jean Carol Hoeldtke Adams.He graduated from La Vega High School and McLennan Community College. Alvin worked for the City of Waco for 20 years and at the McLennan County Appraisal District for 18 years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of Sparks Memorial Methodist Church and of the
Bellmead Masonic Lodge 1329. He also served in the Texas National Guard, 36th Division,Company A from 1956 – 1962. He married Jean Carol Hoeldtke on November 10, 1956 and is survived by his daughter Leigh Ann Adams Brunson, son-in-law David Brunson and grandchildren Ryan Taylor Brunson and Brittany Nicole Brunson.Alvin greatly enjoyed playing golf with his Saturday morning foursome, taking care of his Golden Retriever Rex, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted father and grandfather but was especially devoted to his wife of 57 years whom he loved with all his heart.The family wishes to thank their many friends, Westview Manor and the Gentiva Hospice staff for all their love and support. Memorials may be made to the COPD Foundation, World Wildlife Fund or one’s favorite charity.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday December 17th at 1:00 pm At Waco Memorial Park.
