Alton Brown

Alton Brown of Axtell passed away suddenly Monday night, August 30, 2021, at the age of 85.  A visitation will be held from 6  to 8 P.M. Friday, September 3, 2021, in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive.  The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 4, 2021, with Rev. Rex Bland officiating.  Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park.

Mr. Brown was born July 23, 1936, in McDade, Texas, the son of the late August Frank and Martha Mattie (Glockzin) Brown where he began his education and attended  high school in Waco. On July 15, 1955, in Waco, Texas, he married the former Patsy Yvonne Childress.  For thirty-two years, he was employed by Texas Coffin Company as a cabinetmaker. He later was employed by Truck and Trailer as a mechanic for over ten years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed vegetable gardening and working with his woodworking skills.  He enjoyed traveling with his motor home in almost all 50 states.  He and Patsy enjoyed celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on an  Alaskan Cruise,

Survivors include his wife Patsy of sixty-six years;  Sons, Alton Douglas Brown and wife Christy, Curtis Wayne Brown and companion Niiki Hicks; five grandchildren, Christopher Douglas Brown, Terri Rose (Brown) Tweed, Travis Wayne Brown, Dustin Tanner Brown, Justin Taylor Brown; three great grandchildren and a special family friend, Doris Neatherlin Farrar.
