Allah "A.J." Ambrose

Allah Jean (A.J.) Ambrose, 90, of Waco, Passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2014 at First United Methodist Church Chapel of Waco with Rev. Wayne Williams Officiating. A visitation with the family will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

A.J. was born on December 27, 1924, to Homer and Allah Martin.

A.J. was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Ambrose, her infant son, Darrell Alan Ambrose, two brothers, Jack Martin and Rev. Billy Rhodes Martin.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Dawn Slough of Waco, her three sons; James Ambrose and wife Helena of Houston, Harland Johnson Jr. of Odessa, William Ambrose of Canyon, six grandchildren; Brandon Lee Slough, Jennifer Slough, Christopher Ambrose, Jonathan Ambrose, Maija Johnson-Horne, Ariel Johnson and nine great grandchildren.


There are some people who cross your path in life and forever leave their mark of joy. Allah Jean was such a person. No party was as lively as when she was in attendance, no dance floor as graced as when she danced.
She loved and enjoyed people and they loved and enjoyed her. She will be dearly missed by friends and family alike.
