Aline Joy Martin Brooks, 81, of Waco, went to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at St. Catherine Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with Aline's family will be 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening, June 13, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive.
Aline was born March 17, 1933 in Woodbury, Tennessee to John Allen and Eliza Young Youngblood. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmommy. Aline was married November 7, 1959 to Weldon "Tiny" Martin. He died February 20, 1989. She was a long time seamstress for Wood's Manufacturing. Aline was well-known for spending numerous hours cooking for her large family and her broken glass cake was a family tradition at every gathering. She enjoyed playing dominos, fishing and traveling with her family and friends. She will truly be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Weldon Martin; brothers, Jack Youngblood and Ross Youngblood; sister, Roberta Carr; and daughter, Johnna Behringer.
Aline is survived by her husband; sons, Doug Martin and wife, Nancy, of Monroe, North Carolina and Donald Martin and wife, Jan, of Katy; son-in-law, Steve Behringer; five grandchildren, Brian and wife, Krista, April, Austin, Travis and Mallory; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Emma; brothers, Paul Youngblood of Coolidge, Johnny Youngblood and wife, Glenda, of Bellmead, Willie Youngblood and wife, Mary, of Bellmead, and Doss Youngblook of Bellmead; sister, Linda Farrar and husband, Bobby, of China Spring; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Ridgecrest Assisted Living Center as well as a special thanks to the staff at Providence Hospice and to Meadowbrook Baptist Church for their special ministries.
