Alicia (Duron) Yglecias

Alicia Duron Yglecias was born December 5, 1929 in Malakoff, TX.  A resident of Speegleville, TX of 52 years,  died September 25, 2020. A rosary will be said at 9:30 am, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 am, with an inurnment at Oakwood Cemetery.  The family requests that everyone wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

Alicia was a member of St. Jerome Church where she participated in various prayer groups and religious devotions.  Her time spent at Church was a source of peace, love of faith and complete trust in God.  She loved and cared for her family completely, always considering her children God’s Blessing on her.  She worked since an early age at the family grocery business all through her youth and years later closing the store after her father’s retirement.  At periods during her adult life, she was a Care Giver for her parents, grandparents, and husband. She enjoyed cooking for her family, her grandkids, and visiting company.  Her question would be “Are you Hungry?” “Have you eaten?”  No one would go away without being offered a snack or meal.

Mother loved and appreciated her daughters-in-law.  She had a great relation with each one. She would always mention that Joy came to the family at the right time when she needed it most.  For Joy being Mondo’s wife and becoming like a sister to her sons whom they all loved from the start.  To Michelle she has expressed her utmost gratitude for bringing her into their home and taking care of her needs when she was so ill.  Ever loving Albert and Michelle for welcoming all the family at Thanksgiving dinner and other joyful occasions. To Edward and Eloisa looking forward to their visits, taking her to fine restaurants to enjoy good meals, lovely gifts to be used for her comfort.  Eloisa taking her to visit friends when possible and shopping when needed.  To David and Linda for later bringing her into their home and taking care of her daily needs and her care to the end. She loved Linda’s meals and appreciated David taking care of her errands and medical appointments.  Finally for the Pillar of Strength for Family even from an early age, my first born son, Mondo, always ready to help in decisions, directives, problems, and solutions for Mother. In addition to her sons and their wives, she truly enjoyed and looked forward to all the Yglecias family get togethers and to the Duron family reunions. I bless and love you all.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jesus Macias Duron and Carmen De La Torre Duron.  She married Vicente Yglecias Jr.  February 6, 1955 in Waco, TX at St. Francis Church.  Her husband of 42 years died June 11, 1997; a younger brother, Jesse Duron Jr., a younger sister, Evangeline Duron Cruz, several brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law.

She is survived by, four sons: Mondo Yglecias and wife Joy of Rockwall, TX, Albert (Bert) Yglecias and wife Michelle of Waco, TX, Edward (Eddie) Yglecias and wife Eloisa of Lorena, TX, David Yglecias and wife Linda of Speegleville, TX.  Seven Grandchildren, Stacy Hutchens and husband Jefferson, Crystal Ehrenborg and husband Michael, Joey Yglecias and wife Jamille, Amanda Wesolick and husband Andrew, Louis Yglecias and wife Rachel, Macy Yglecias, and Kristina Yglecias.  Seven Great Grandchildren, Alexis, Adelyn, and Logan Yglecias, Hunter Frary, Isabella Hutchens, Alyenna and Adalena Wesolick. And numerous brother and sister-in-laws, cousins, nephews, nieces, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and many friends and neighbors.

Our family would like to thank St. Jerome Church for taking care of Mother’s spiritual needs after she became homebound and to Janice Hurst, her Eucharistic Minister for her faithful service and friendship.  The medical staff at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Hillcrest, Mother’s Physician and nurses, and Nicole Sifuentez, Caregiver.

Mother’s last wishes were to get close to God, that’s what will pull you through. Time is short, enjoy every day.  Stay close to each other.  Live a good full life, family is the most important thing.  Love each other.
