Alice Louise Reed Pate of Waco, entered into her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service officiated by Pastor Titus Snell. She is laid to rest next to her uncle -Elder Leo Simmons who preceded her in death at Goshen Cemetery.
Alice Louise Reed Pate was born on February 28, 1943 to William Huddleston and Alice Mae Reed in Waco, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age uniting and being baptized at Goodwill Baptist Church. And later becoming a member of Greater Bible Way Church of God in Christ. Upon moving to Hallsburg, TX she united with Titus African Methodist Episcopal Church. Alice was educated in the Waco Independent School, graduating from A.J. Moore High School in 1963. She married John Brown and to that union two children we born. She later married James Hutchinson and to that union one child was born, she loved her children and each one of them was special to her. Alice later married Cecil Pate in May of 1994 and they lived happily ever after for 26 years. Alice was employed by E.O.A.C. Head Start for 10 years, Durham Transportation for 20 years. After leaving Durham Transportation she began doing Home Health Care among other things. Alice was known as Jack of All Trades.
She is preceded in death by her Father, Mother, Grandparents, Nephew, Uncles and Aunts.
Alice leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Cecil Pate, Sons, Wayne Brown and wife Lisa, Nathan Brown and wife Sonia; daughter, Benetha Hutchinson; sisters, Catherine Reed and Earnestine Gabriel; brother Earnest Ray Banks; grandchildren, Anthonett, Charissa, Kenesha, Natalie and Nattina; five great-grandchildren; three nephews, four nieces,loving cousins Ruby Clayborne and Willie Jean Watford; a very devoted friend Earline Vaughn and a host of other relatives and friends.
