It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael J. Prahl, currently a resident of Woodway, Texas. He died at the age of 30 on June 1, 2023. Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Alison Hessling Prahl, his loving parents, Bill and Cecilia Prahl, his Best Man and brother, Will Prahl, aunts and uncles, Rod Jude, Victoria Steele (Bob), Peter Jude (Maria), Bob Jude (Sheri), Chris Jude, John Prahl (Helen), Kate Nealley (Edwin) and Richard Prahl (Polly). He will be sorely missed by his many cousins and friends.
Michael was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He attended Palmetto High School where he played water polo. He received a degree in Finance and Real Estate from Florida State University where he was an active member of the Real Estate Club and played guitar in a band. After graduating he worked for LNR Properties on Miami Beach before moving to Nashville and continuing his real estate career as an underwriter at Citigroup. In 2020 he went off on his own and forged a successful career as a founder of a real estate private equity firm. Michael was an avid watersports afficionado, his favorites being wakeboarding, wake skating and most recently, surfing. Michael was a fun-loving, goal-oriented person with a child-like joy and a heart for encouraging everyone he came in contact with to achieve their absolute best.
Alison was the love of his life. Mike brought unconditional love, joy, and support to her throughout their friendship and marriage. Their short time together was filled with many romantic dinners out, weekend get-a-ways, snow skiing, camping and hiking trips, and travels abroad. May his wife find solace in the knowledge that his spirit now resides in the arms of God, and may the strength of the covenant of marriage and their shared faith provide comfort during this time, knowing that their love will endure eternally.
